Hours of Work: variable; ~5-6 afternoon/evening hours per week based on seasonal demand

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Skate Canada Club, we are an energetic and dynamic team dedicated to providing and promoting a positive and fun-filled skating experience for every skater.
We are seeking a club coach to join the current coaching team as the Director of CanSkate. Vernon Figure Skating Club (VFSC) is a thriving community of skaters with approximately 150 members, located in beautiful Vernon, BC. Our club has been sharing a love of skating the North Okanagan for over 75 years!
JOB DUTIES
- Coach CanSkate programs
- Collaborate with the Director of Skating to coordinate ice time for CanSkate programs
- Collaborate with other club coaches on CanSkate lesson plans and training
- Oversee and mentor Program Assistants and youth coaches
- Communicate and engage with parents and caregivers
- Occasionally coach or substitute coach other VFSC levels and programs
QUALIFICATIONS
- CanSkate Coach certified in good standing with Skate Canada
- Skate Canada PowerSkate and/or Regional Coach certification (preferred)
- Completed Star 6 to Gold Skate Canada update training (preferred).
- Successful applicant must successfully pass a Criminal Record Check
